A complementary approach delivered by Clinique AL Akhawayn.
Clinique AL Akhawayn opened in 2019, founded by Doctors ALAHYANE ABDELWAHAB and ALAHYANE LATIFA, two siblings native to the Essaouira region. Since then, the clinic has served the city's residents and visitors with a comprehensive medical and surgical offering, built to hospital standards.

Ozone therapy was added to Clinique AL Akhawayn's offering as a complementary approach, supervised by a medical team, in a safe hospital environment. It complements the clinic's existing specialties, supporting oxygenation, immunity and recovery.

Medical ozone (O₃, three oxygen atoms) is produced on-site by a medical generator, at precisely dosed concentrations for therapeutic use — it should never be confused with atmospheric ozone, and is never administered by direct inhalation, which would irritate the airways. Depending on the protocol, it is brought into contact with a blood sample (autohemotherapy), injected locally, introduced into a body cavity (insufflation), or used to enrich water or oils for external use.
On contact with blood or tissue, it stimulates oxygen metabolism, acts on local microcirculation, modulates the immune response and shows antimicrobial properties. These mechanisms have been studied for several decades. Ozone therapy is recognised as a complementary treatment in several countries, notably in Europe, for supporting musculoskeletal pain and inflammatory conditions; its regulatory status nonetheless varies from country to country, and it is not the subject of unanimous scientific consensus.
